Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

January 23, 2002

Kelvin Hughes is to supply its Nucleus3 radar and C.Plath gyrocompass to Wightlink. The St. Helen will be the first Wightlink ferry to be fitted with the Kelvin Hughes Nucleus3 5000 ATA radar system. The Nucleus3 5000 radar system, which has the ability to automatically track up to 50 targets at any one time, is ideally suited for use in high-speed craft and commercial shipping up to 10,000 tons. AIS compatible to meet future regulations, the Nucleus3 radar features an Azimuth Stretch facility, which allows small targets to be seen easily.
