CMA CGM Confirms Leadership Team

CMA CGM (America) LLC, the U.S. entity of CMA CGM Group announced the membership of its executive management team that leads the company’s U.S. operations. The executive team is responsible for developing and implementing new strategies to address the evolving transportation industry, and growing the company’s international cargo volumes to historic levels despite a highly competitive marketplace. The executive team consists of: Frank J. Baragona President – Mr. Baragona has a 30-year proven successful management record in the global containerized shipping industry. In less than four years as president, he has transformed the organization’s effectiveness and driven the exponential growth the company has seen since 2004. Prior to joining CMA CGM (America) LLC, he held various senior leadership positions at CSX’s global container shipping unit, Sea-Land Service, Inc., Lykes Bros. Steamship Co., and Delta Steamship Lines.

Susan A. Hatchard Senior Vice President, Sales, Trade, and Marketing Chief Commercial Officer – With over 26 years of expertise, Ms. Hatchard is responsible for CMA CGM (America) LLC’s brand, image, and commercial results in North America. In her 7-year career with the company, she has been fundamental to the company’s extraordinary growth, expansion of its client base and improved service to its customers. She has recruited an exceptional commercial team who has contributed to the growth and success of the company. Prior to joining the company, Ms. Hatchard held senior level positions with FedEx, Sea-Land Service, Inc. and Buyers Consolidators in various sales, operations, and third party logistics positions.

Joel Haka Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer – In his role with CMA CGM (America) LLC, Mr. Haka calls upon a 28 year track record of success to manage the company’s Marine Operations, Equipment Control, Import and Export Customer Service Documentation, Truck and Rail Operations, and Maintenance & Repair departments for the company’s operations in North America. His previous experience includes work with P & O Nedlloyd, Sea-Land Services, Inc., CSX Intermodal, Maersk-Sealand and Maersk Logistics.

James B. Arnold Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer – Mr. Arnold is responsible for all aspects of finance and accounting for CMA CGM (America) LLC’s North American operations. He is committed to driving continued profitable growth for the company by strategically managing the company’s financial performance and streamlining financial business processes. His pervious experience includes work with AmeriCold Logistics, AT&T, and Cable & Wireless

Mary Ellen Russell Vice President, Human Resources – In her current position, Ms. Russell is responsible for improving organizational effectiveness, and positioning CMA CGM (America) LLC as a worldwide leader by driving strategic and tactical human resources goals to support the company’s growth initiatives and human capital performance. Ms. Russell has a solid history of work performance that includes leadership positions with Jevic Transportation, CoreStates Financial Services, and the Vanguard Group.

Marc G. Marling Vice President and General Counsel – As an accomplished maritime attorney, Mr. Marling leverages his expertise to guide the Marine Claims, Service Contracts, and Bids departments of the company. His team also provides legal support for all aspects of company operations in the United States. Before joining CMA CGM (America) LLC, he practiced maritime law with Hunter Maclean Exley & Dunn, P.C. and Lamorte Burns & Co., Inc.

On January 1, 2008, the company also changed its legal name from CMA CGM (America) Inc. to CMA CGM (America) LLC. This modification reflects a change in the company’s tax and accounting structure.
