Evergreen Shipping Agency (), North America general agents for Evergreen Line, has announced two new executive vice president appointments in its head office. Jay Buckley has been named Executive Vice President, Business, and Louise Yu, Executive Vice President, Customer Service. Buckley will oversee all marketing and sales efforts in . Ms. Yu's responsibilities will be in charge of Customer Service functions. Both have spent their entire careers at Evergreen in the U. S.
Jay Buckley joined Evergreen in Boston in 1983, the year after he graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and The Ocean Corp. in Houston, TX. He started as a sales representative and in 1993 was promoted to office Manager, overseeing sales, logistics and customer service.
In July 1997, Buckley transferred to the head office in to head the Quality Management Division, where he secured the
company's ISO 9000 certification for in November 2000. In February
2001, he became Junior Vice President, Business, and in 2006 was promoted to Senior Vice President, the position he held when he became Executive Vice President.
Louise Yu received an MBA from the of and joined Evergreen in the office in 1976. In 1983 she transferred to the head office as Manager of the Project Division. She later was appointed Deputy Junior VP of Documentation and continued to be promoted within that division. In January 1989, Yu was named Junior Vice President and in 2001, Senior Vice President of Documentation, a position she held until her recent appointment to Executive Vice President where she will deal with day-to-day responsibilities of ensuring customer satisfaction with the Evergreen services.
