Dec. 1, 2008, the amphibious landing dock ship pre-commissioning unit Green Bay (LPD 20) is underway from Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding Avondale Operations in New Orleans. The ship is on her maiden voyage en route to Long Beach, Calif., where she will be commissioned in January 2009 and become the second San-Antonio-class ship to be home ported in San Diego.
