Aker Yards Builds Two Large Construction Vessels

Aker Yards is to build two large construction vessels for DOFCON. Both vessels will be delivered from Aker Yards' site at Søviknes in Norway. The first vessel is of Aker OSCV 06 L design, developed by Aker Yards, and will be delivered from the yard spring 2009. The vessel is 153 meters long. It will have DP Class 3 and Ice Class. The vessel will have a maximum speed of 18.5 knots, which is of significant importance for global operations in order to minimize mobilization time.

The second vessel is scheduled for delivery spring 2008. It is 118 meters long, and will be equipped with a 250 tonnes offshore crane, and will have DP Class 3. This vessel is also designed by Aker Yards.
