AMSEC Gets $92.8M Navy Contract

AMSEC LLC, Virginia Beach, Va., is being awarded a $92,893,085 indefinite-delivery and indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee, multiple award contract for engineering and technical services for alteration installations, engineering research, design, computer programming and logistics on hull, mechanical, electrical and electronics systems onboard U.S. Navy ships. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Va. (30 percent); San Diego (30 percent); Mayport, Fla. (10 percent); Pascagoula, Miss. (six percent); Groton, Conn. (five percent); Bath, Maine (five percent); Kings Bay, Ga. (three percent); Yokosuka, Japan (three percent); Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (two percent); Ingleside, Texas (two percent); Newport News, Va. (two percent); Bremerton, Wash. (one percent); and Bahrain (one percent); and is to be completed by December 2007. Contract funds in the amount of $500,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via the Commerce Business Daily and on the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division Internet Web site, with 41 proposals solicited and four offers received. Two offers were eliminated and the two remaining contractors may compete for delivery orders under the terms and conditions of the awarded contract. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, Philadelphia, is the contracting activity (N65540-02-D-0042).
