Rolf G. Oetter, Founder and President of Albacore Research Ltd (ARL), and Dr. Oskar Lee announced the official launch of ARL Asia Pte Ltd (ARL Asia) as solutions provider and training and technical center for ARL’s ShipConstructor software in Asia.
ShipConstructor is the powerful AutoCAD based 3D product-modeling software for the design and fabrication of ships and offshore structures.
As Director of ARL Asia, Dr. Lee will provide CAD/CAM system integration in the Asia Pacific region for all ShipConstructor clients, with the aim to co-ordinate sales and technical support. To aid this effort, ARL Asia has enhanced its website (www.shipconstructor.com.sg) to provide full product, training and exhibit information for ShipConstructor’s Asia-based clients.
“Under Dr. Lee’s guidance and knowledge of local markets, ARL is on target to expand its client base of shipyards and designers throughout Asia, where the marine and offshore industry is expected to grow tremendously, and thus also the need for easy-to-use ship design software solutions such as ShipConstructor,” said Mr. Oetter.
To provide timely, localized service, ARL Asia has established a dealer network in the Asia region, which includes, to date, eHYS, Inc (Korea), CAD&Soft Co Ltd (Korea), S&I Technologies Asia Pte Ltd (Singapore), Peripheral Solutions (S) Pte Ltd (Singapore) and

Seoul-based eHYS, nominated by Autodesk Korea as its sole business partner in Korean marine industries, is the key Autodesk reseller for Korea (www.ehys.co.kr). CAD&Soft in Busan specializes in management technology consulting and software development for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) for the marine industries in Korea (www.cad.co.kr).
