Carville Job Corps Academy Obtains Certification

Friday, February 10, 2006
Rig pass certification was established several years ago by the International Drilling Contractors Association (IADC) as a minimum safety training program for personnel working offshore on drilling rigs. In the interest of improving safety in the offshore petroleum industry, this certification has become a required credential to work offshore in the petroleum industry. The accreditation of the Carville Job Corps Academy A.P.I. (American Petroleum Institute) roustabout training program by IADC for the Rig Pass Training provides students with the certification required for working in the industry and another inducement for an employer to hire our students. Students enter the work force with vocational training recognized by the American Petroleum Institute (API) and accredited by the International Drilling Contractors Association (IADC).
