Tuesday, November 25, 2003
A Coast Guard rescue helicopter crew hoisted three fishermen this morning from their disabled vessel that ran aground near Ship Island.
Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans was notified at 9:53 a.m. by the crewmembers of the fishing vessel Nautilus, homeported in Pascagoula, Miss., that they had been disabled and adrift since Friday and had recently run aground. A helicopter was dispatched to the scene where the crew lowered a rescue swimmer and basket to the fishing vessel. All three crewmembers of the Nautilus were hoisted from the boat and brought aboard the helicopter for transfer to Gulfport International Airport for further assistance.
