Corps Release Draft Civil Works Strategic Plan for Comment

Wednesday, October 02, 2002
The United States Army Corps of Engineers today released the draft Civil Works Strategic Plan for a 30-day comment period. The objective of the plan is to provide a framework for the Corps' Civil Works Program to continue to contribute to the sustainability of the Nation's water and land-related resources with a balanced focus on ecosystem health, economic vitality and quality of life. The plan meets the requirements of the Government Performance and Results Act of 1993 that requires Federal agencies to present strategic goals and objectives in a strategic plan, and to assess progress through an annual performance plan. In addition, the Office of Management and Budget has requested that the Corps submit a strategic plan specifying program goals and results achieved by the Civil Works Program.
