CSC Awarded $368m Navy Order

Tuesday, February 10, 2009

CSC announced on Feb. 5 that the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) has awarded the company a task order to continue providing professional engineering support services. The contract has a one-year base period and four one-year options, bringing the estimated total five-year contract value to $368m.

CSC won the competitively awarded task order under the SeaPort Enhanced contract vehicle, originally awarded in 2004. This contract was awarded to CSC during the company's fiscal 2009 third quarter. CSC's work under the new task order continues the company's support to the NAVSEA engineering directorate which began more than three decades ago.

Under the terms of the new agreement, CSC will continue to provide support for naval ship preliminary design and contract design; oversight of detailed design and construction efforts; and engineering support for all types of ships. Additionally, CSC will continue to provide engineering and management support across all ship design, acquisition and life-cycle phases, and will remain actively engaged in advanced ship, vehicle and future fleet force development.

The CSC team, comprised of more than 55 specialty engineering subcontractors and consultants, includes CDI Marine, of Severna Park, Md.; Marine Systems Corporation, of Boston, Mass.; Reliability and Performance Technologies Inc., of Dublin, Pa.; and Zimmerman Associates Inc., of Fairfax, Va.
