Doosan Infracore Portable Power has supplied a multi-million pound fleet of new Ingersoll Rand Rigsafe portable air compressors to Airpac Bukom Oilfield Services, the oil and gas division of equipment rental group Vp plc.

The major new investment by Airpac Bukom in air compression equipment from Doosan Infracore Portable Power has expanded the company’s equipment rental fleet to support the growing market for Well Test and high pressure pipeline requirements among customers worldwide.

The new order comprises Ingersoll Rand 9/270 Rigsafe air compressors supplying 28 m3/min at 8.6 bar (1050 scfm at 125 psig).  These have been delivered to Airpac Bukom's global bases for mobilization to a number of well test contracts mainly in Africa and South America.

Airpac Bukom has also invested in high pressure XHP1070 Rigsafe air compressors from Doosan Infracore Portable Power supplying 30.3 m3/min at 24.1 bar (1070 scfm at 350 psig) to complement the existing high pressure rental fleet.

The Singapore base of Airpac Bukom has supplied Weatherford with a large high pressure compressor and dryer spread consisting of 10 of the new XHP1070 Rigsafe compressors and dryers for a 7 month testing contract in the Fujian Province of the People’s Republic of China.

From the company’s Australian base, Airpac Bukom has also supplied three new Ingersoll Rand Rigsafe compressors to Halliburton for a ‘wet buckle’ contingency on the Blacktip Gas Project at Wadeye in Australia.

Airpac Bukom Oilfield Services is a specialist air compression and steam generation equipment rental company.  The company’s foundations are in the UK where it has supplied equipment and worked in the North Sea for more than 30 years.

Airpac Bukom supplies and operates large equipment spreads comprising offshore Rigsafe air compressors, steam generators, booster compressors, heat exchangers, sand filtration and Coflexip hoses as well as air treatment ancillaries designed or adapted to customer requirements.

The business supplies equipment and services to the well testing, pipeline, underbalanced drilling (UBD) and rig repair and maintenance markets globally.  To support customers, Airpac Bukom has developed a strategic network of global distribution and servicing facilities with the latest hubs opening during 2007 in Australia, the Middle East and Latin America.

Airpac Bukom has a fleet of more than 400 air compressors for rental ranging from 5.0 to 45.3 m3/min (175 through to 1600 scfm) and pressure variants starting from 7 bar (100 psi), with the high pressure fleet starting at 24 bar (350 psig).

Caged and containerized units are available.  These units are mounted in a certified lifting frame/container with integral drip tray, providing caged protection and stacking of the units where deck space is at a premium.  The range is fitted with either battery or pneumatic start, spark arrestors and overspeed protection to Zone II/Rigsafe specification.  Emergency Shutdown (ESD) is available on all models to provide instant shutdown in the event of gas detection or similar hazards.
