Drydocks World - Dubai, a ship repair, conversion and new building yard and flagship company of Drydocks World, won the Shipbuilding/Shiprepair Award at the Lloyd’s List Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Awards 2009 for the fifth consecutive year.

In addition, Nawal Saigal, Managing Director, Drydocks World - Dubai, was named Personality of the Year for his strategic positioning of the shipyard, advocating investment and seizing opportunity in the downturn. The awards committee, comprising marine industry veterans, highlighted that these factors have helped Drydocks World - Dubai achieve a consistent performance and have boosted the morale of the marine industry in the UAE.

Ravi Senaratne, Commercial Director, Drydocks World - Dubai, received the Shipbuilding/Shiprepair Award on behalf of the yard, at a presentation ceremony held at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, on Sunday, November 8th.

The Dubai yard has recently expanded its repair and conversion facilities in terms of space and equipment, increasing its capacity for major projects involving highly complex, technical operations.
