Fast Ferry Delivers for Virgin Islands

Midship Marine of Harvey Louisiana will be delivering a 132-passenger ferry this week to Ashley Boynes of Inter Island Boat Service in St. John, Virgin Islands. The 70 x 19.5-foot aluminum mono-hull has a moulded depth of seven feet and will be powered by three Cummins KTA19M4 engines rated for 700 HP each at 2100 RPM. The engines will turn 32-inch propellers through Twin Disc MG5114A gears with ratios of 1.92:1. Rudders will be mounted aft of the two out board props. Tankage includes 200 gallons of potable water, 200 gallons for sewage holding in addition to 1200 gallons of fuel.
