Globe Wireless Opens Hong Kong, Hamburg Offices

Monday, February 26, 2001
Globe Wireless, a provider of maritime communications solutions, has opened new Sales and Customer Support offices in Hong Kong, SAR and Hamburg, Germany. The new offices significantly enhance Globe Wireless' ability to serve the expanding Asian and European maritime communications markets. "Hong Kong, as an international trading center and a focus for Asian shipping, is a natural location for Globe Wireless to increase business activities. The region's rebounding economy has once again created a huge demand on Hong Kong's port facilities and reinforced its role as a gateway for world trade," remarked Rob Lockett, Vice President of Sales, Asia. "As a global provider of communications to the maritime community, and in response to customer demand, it was natural for Globe to open an office in Hong Kong to better serve our expanding regional customer base." "The shipping market in Germany is growing rapidly, and communications are playing an increasingly important role in shipping today," noted Mike McNally, Vice President of Sales and Customer Care. "At Globe we have seen the European market for our services grow at unprecedented rates, and our presence in Germany will allow us to bring top notch service to this expanding customer base." The Hong Kong office is headed by Cyris Yiu, Regional Sales Manager, and the Hamburg, office is managed by Christian Fölster, Regional Sales Manager. In addition to sales efforts, these offices provide local and regional Customer Support. Globe Wireless is 100 percent dedicated to the maritime industry.
