Gulf Africa Line to Call Port of Jacksonville

Monday, March 22, 2004
Gulf Africa Line (GAL) will begin U.S. East Coast port calls in Jacksonville, effective with Blue Master voyage 0504 (northbound) and 1204 (southbound).

"In our ongoing effort to create greater value for customers, we have identified significant opportunities in Jacksonville for a large portion of the range of cargoes we regularly carry," said David Groves, GAL Owner's Representative, located in Houston, TX. "In addition, the facilities in Jacksonville will offer greater heavy lift capacity for southbound project cargoes than have previously been available."

In order to maintain schedule integrity, the Port of Savannah will no longer be served as of the same Blue Master voyages.

Vessels will call Talleyrand Terminal in Jacksonville, offering additional benefits to the service, including modern dry, refrigerated and bonded warehousing; heavy lift shore crane capacity up to 100mts; rail access with CSX, NS and FECR; and hazardous container handling capabilities. Gulf Africa Line AG is a Liner Service connecting Mexico, the U.S. Gulf and East Coast with Southern Africa. The company operates its own multipurpose vessels and is specialized in the transport of containers, breakbulk and bulk as well as heavy lifts and project cargoes.
