Horizon Lines, Inc., (NYSE:HRZ), the nation's leading domestic ocean shipping and integrated logistics company, has entered into a new agreement for terminal operations at the Port of Oakland. Horizon Lines has teamed with Ports America, the largest terminal operator and stevedoring company in the Americas, to service cargo moving through Oakland between the U.S. mainland, Hawaii, Guam and Micronesia. Horizon Lines operations are located at 1599 Maritime Street.

Ports America brings state-of-the-art technology and superior terminal services expertise to help deliver efficient gate and vessel operations to Horizon Lines' customers. Service enhancements with the new terminal include extended gate hours for early deliveries and lunchtime deliveries on Horizon Lines' ship days with dedicated truck lanes. All transactions are processed via Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) for speed and accuracy, with shipment status updates available through Horizon Lines' online shipment management portal NetCaptain.

Prior to the new terminal, Horizon Lines utilized APM Terminals as stevedore and terminal operator at its former facility located at 1425 Maritime Street.
