HUAL To Strengthen Short Seas

Friday, September 05, 2003
HUAL, one of the major global car carrier operators, has decided to split its short sea activities into two entities in order to enhance and expand service to short sea customers in Europe. HUAL has served the European short sea market through its French subsidiary Cetam SAS covering both pure car- and combined car/trailer segments.

The activities in Cetam will now be split in order to further support growth in the two segments individually and meet the requirements from different categories of customers. HUAL entered into a joint-venture agreement with Louis Dreyfus Armateurs SAS to cover the combined car/trailer segment under the name of LD Cetam SAS, whereas the pure car segment will be further developed through HUAL under the name Autoliners SAS. HUAL is the Ro/Ro subsidiary of Leif Höegh & Co. (LHC).
