Tuesday, December 28, 1999
Jinzhou Harbour Co. has completed construction of two bulk cargo berths at the northeastern port of Jinzhou at a cost of $41.26 million. A 35,000-ton berth with an annual throughput capacity of 600,000 tons for mineral commodities was put in service in late December, officials said. Jinzhou Harbour, a company that operates the Jinzhou port, also added a 50,000-ton berth designed to handle 950,000 tons of coal and other bulk cargo per year. With the installation of these berths, actual annual throughput capacity at the port will top 10 million tons.
