L-3 Henschel celebrated its 90th Anniversary on July 29th with a ceremony that included L-3 Corporate leadership, Commander Timothy M. Cooper, USN, the Commanding Officer of the U.S.S. Constitution, “Old Ironsides,” and representatives from the Massachusetts General Assembly.  L-3 Henschel has positioned itself as a market leader in the areas of navigation, control, networks, and communications. It continues to be a leading supplier of critical products and systems within L-3’s Marine & Power Systems group for the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard, and many international allies.

“For more than 90 years, Henschel has provided first-rate tools and equipment to support the men and women of our armed forces,” said Don Roussinos, President of L-3 Henschel. “We are proud of our heritage and look forward to the next 90 years.”

Since 1919, the Henschel name has been found on the freighters and merchant vessels sailing up the channels of the Chesapeake Bay to the ports of Wilmington and Philadelphia.  In more recent times, Henschel products and systems are found on nearly every class of ship in the United States Navy and on many allied vessels.  Henschel products are forward-deployed in the Persian Gulf, the South China Sea, and many other strategic international locations.  The company’s latest systems include integrated navigation, communications, ship control and network-based products, providing advanced capabilities for platforms from nuclear submarines to the Littoral Combat Ship, the DDG-1000 and CVN-78.

“The Henschel name is synonymous with quality and dependability,” said Commander Timothy Cooper, Captain of the USS Constitution. “As a member of our nation’s military, I am often thanked for my service to our country.  However, I would also like to take a moment to thank the equipment manufacturers, like Henschel, who produce the products and capabilities that enable us to effectively accomplish our mission.  Thank you for your service to our country as well and congratulations on reaching this significant milestone!”

L-3 Henschel, a division of the L-3 Marine & Power Systems group, has been a market leader in the areas of navigation, control, networks, and communications and continues to be a leading supplier of critical products and systems for the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard, and many international allies.
