MarAd Sponsors Biometrics Expo

Monday, September 18, 2006
The Maritime Administration is a sponsor of the 2006 Biometrics Technology Expo, which opens at the Baltimore Convention Center on Tuesday, September 19, 2006. The Expo brings together more than 100 leaders in biometrics, the science now increasingly used for personal identification and authentication. The two U.S. DOT agencies have been involved in government and industry discussions since 2001, since the transportation industries represent many of the most important end-users of this technology. The Expo runs September 19-21, and has attracted more than 1,500 biometric specialists.
