Marine Debris Vessel Aground in Hawaii

The U.S. Coast Guard issued a Press Release stating that the Unified Command is responding to the grounding of a marine debris removal vessel on Pearl and Hermes Atoll in the northwestern Hawaiian Islands. A subsequent Press Release states that the crew of the vessel has transferred ashore. The 145-foot vessel is leaking oil from its fuel tanks. A boom has been deployed. Rescue and response vessels are en route. A third Press Release notes that the ship remains aground. The crew and scientific personnel have been transported to Midway Island. (HK Law).
