The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) with regard to the proposed
Cape Wind Energy Project on Horseshoe Shoal in Nantucket Sound. The project, if approved, would involve installation and operation of 130 wind turbine generators, an electric service platform, and associated cable in the Nantucket Sound area. Public meetings will be held in Oak Bluffs (December 6), West Yarmouth (December 7), Nantucket (December 8), and Cambridge (December 16).
