Wednesday, April 02, 2003

SeaArk Marine, Inc. delivered a 35-ft. Dauntless Class patrol/rescue boat to the New York Police Department (NYPD) Harbor Unit. The boat, identified as Launch 35, is responsible for patrol, search and rescue, port security, diving and anti-terrorism activities in New York Harbor and the waters surrounding New York City.

The SeaArk 35-ft. Dauntless is constructed of all-welded marine grade aluminum and features a deep vee variable deadrise hull that produces a smooth, dry and stable ride.

Launch 35 is powered by twin Caterpillar 3126 inboard diesel engines, each rated @ 420 hp. Additional outfitting includes a Kohler generator, an ICOM VHF/FM radio, a Northstar chart plotter and a Furuno radar. For all-season crew comfort and operation, the boat includes heating and air conditioning.

Malcolm Wisch, SeaArk's Northeast Regional Sales Manager, said "Working in cooperation with the marine professionals at the NYPD Harbor Unit greatly contributed to the success of this project and resulted in a boat that meets and exceed its mission objectives. Our Dauntless fleet in the Northeast has been growing steadily. We have just commenced construction of a 57-foot Dauntless for the Boston Police Department for command/control and search and rescue activities".

Currently, SeaArk is producing a large quantity of Dauntless Class boats for the U.S. Navy for port security at naval installations worldwide. All SeaArk products are available on GSA Contract.
