NNS To Take Part in UAE Shipbuilding Venture

Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) and French and United Arab Emirates interests will work together on a UAE shipbuilding venture. The other partners are Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding (ADSB) and Constructions Mecaniques de Normandie (CMN). The firms will provide expertise to ADSB, and consolidate naval shipbuilding operations in the UAE. ADSB would begin work on a new contract to upgrade combat systems for the UAE navy's patrol boats and other projects.
