Pak-navy Decommissions Submarines

According to reports, the Pakistan Navy on decommissioned four of its Daphne class French origin submarines. A ceremony to pay homage to these battles proven platforms of Pakistan navy was held at PN dockyard Monday morning. A large number of serving and retired officers and men of submarine squadron also attended the ceremony. These submarines have been decommissioned after 35 years of meritorious service including participation in 1971 war. The submarines were inducted in Pakistan navy between 1981 and commissioned in January 1977, taking the name of PNS/M Ghazi. Daphne submarines remained a potent punch of the fleet and contributed in all domains of maritime defence during their entire service.
