The Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) and Italian classification society RINA signed a new agreement
on cooperation in performing surveys of ships and floating structures under construction and in service, as well as certification of materials and products.
The agreement has significantly broadened the scope of existing cooperation, which began in June 1979. RINA and RS will now cooperate in the surveying of both seagoing ships and floating structures as well as offering dual classification at the request of shipowners, and also certification of materials and products outside the marine field.
The agreement was signed by Sergey Koshchy, Senior Vice-General Director of RS, and Roberto Cazzulo, Deputy Director Marine Division of RINA.
