Senesco Signs Contracts

Southeastern New England Shipbuilding Corporation announced that it has signed contracts for the construction of three barges and pier floats that have an estimated value of approximately $3 million.

The first contract is for the Hughes Marine out of New Jersey. The contract calls for the construction of a 160 ft. deck barge. This project, the fourth such project Senesco has handled for Hughes, is expected to take eight weeks.

The second contract with Cashman Equipment of Boston is for the construction of two identical deck barges that are 180 ft. in length and have heavy dek loading capabilities. The vessel wil be used as a construction barge and will be able to hold 4,000 lbs. per sq. foot, while most industry vessels are capable of supporting 2,000 lbs. per sq. foot. Delivery is scheduled for February and March.

The final contract is for the construction of pier foats for the MacMillian Pier Reconstruction in Provincetown, Massachusetts. The contract is with AGM of Mashpee, Mass. This project is scheduled to be completed by spring 2002.
