Tanker Escort Vessels Regs to Change?

The U.S. Coast Guard proposes to make permanent its 1994 temporary suspension of crash stop requirements for tanker escort vessels. The original crash stop requirements were developed based on tug capability then prevalent. Tug capability in the United States has improved substantially since that time. Comments on the proposal should be submitted by June 27. 70 Fed. Reg. 15609 (HK Law).
