Tankers Flood into Falmouth

A&P Falmouth has enjoyed a recent resurgence in interest from tanker owners during the first half of this year (2002), with inquiries from all sectors of the market ranging from large panamax to small coastal vessels from both local and international owners. The Falmouth shipyard has, so far, stemmed eight vessels this year, including, over recent days, the 44,999dwt crude carrier 'Iliad' owned by US based Admanthos Shipping and the 6,419dwt coastal tanker 'Rudderman' part of the James Fisher fleet. With a further five tanker repair contracts currently being estimated, this shows that A&P Falmouth remains a serious competitor in this market. The ability to receive slops can often be a major factor when a customer is deciding which repair yard to utilise and Falmouth have plans to increase and broaden this facility through partnerships with local bunkering facilities. A&P Falmouth has received some positive feedback from owners including comments on "Fitting work of high standard" and "Pipe replacement work of very good quality". These testimonials serve to complete the picture of a dedicated workforce intent on meeting the owner’s aspirations to achieve all work on time and on budget.
