Trinity Yachts Delivers 94-ft. Whale Song

The 94-ft. (28.6 m) explorer yacht Whale Song is designed specifically for the owner to safely travel the world in his quest for observing whales in their natural environment. The yacht is built extremely strong with a superstructure aft layout for maximum comfort at sea. The hull is steel construction to ABS ice class scantlings and contains spacious and comfortable amenities for accommodating the owner and seven guests on extended voyages. This yacht has been designed to utilize commercial type systems for reliability, durability and minimum crew.

Below deck, the vessel is divided into six watertight compartments by utilizing five watertight bulkheads. The crew quarters are forward which allows for separation of owner and guests from the crew when desired. Aft of the watertight bulkhead in the crew quarters, there are four guest staterooms below decks each with private bath. These staterooms are accessed by stairs located in the forward part of the main salon. A separate stairway leads from the galley down to the utility room which contains two sets of stackable washer and dryers as well as a walk-in cooler freezer and is located aft of the guest staterooms. A watertight door leads from the utility room aft into the engine room for safe access to the engine room while at sea. Aft of the engine room is a lazarette with a watertight door leading aft to the swim platform for use while at anchor or at dock.

The main deck superstructure is of steel construction and contains an owner's office forward on port and a walk-in pantry forward on starboard. Coming aft there is an open dining area on port and the galley with breakfast bar is starboard. Continuing aft is a seating area to port and the entertainment center and stairs leading to the pilothouse deck to starboard. Weathertight doors lead aft to the covered exterior aft main deck that has comfortable seating and a table for outside dining. There are stairs leading up to the exterior pilothouse deck and also stairs leading down to the swim platform. The swim platform also contains a set of stairs stowed in the swim platform which, when lowered, allows someone to walk down into the water.

Pilothouse deck The pilothouse deck and flybridge deck are constructed of aluminum and contains the large pilothouse, day head for guests and the owner's cabin aft. The pilothouse is laid out for maximum efficiency while at sea with a large, full beam console forward, two helm chairs and a settee aft for guests. The console contains the extensive electronics for navigation and communication as well as areas to lay out full size charts. There are weathertight doors port and starboard leading to the walk around decks and the wing station controls port and starboard. There are stairs leading down to the main deck forward of the pilothouse. The owner's cabin is aft of the pilothouse that affords maximum privacy. The spacious owner's cabin includes large closets, desk, entertainment center and private bath with separate stall shower. There is a weathertight door leading aft from the owner's cabin to the exterior partially covered aft pilothouse deck. Exterior stairs lead from this deck up to the flybridge or sundeck and down to the exterior aft main deck.

The sundeck contains a full set of controls for operating the vessel from this location and has a large padded sunning area forward of the console. The steering station is protected from the sun with a permanent awning.

The maindeck forward of the deckhouse carries two rigid bottom inflatables, one powered with a diesel waterjet and one with a 40-hp outboard. The foremast contains a working crow's nest for use in poorly charted areas of the world and also supports the boom with electric winches for launching the tenders port or starboard. The elevated foredeck has room to store additional water toys such as kayaks and jet skis. There is a large commercial anchor windlass with capstans for handling the two anchors and anchor chain.

All piping systems are designed and built as per ABS rules. Propulsion and auxiliary systems have dry exhaust systems and exhaust piping is black steel pipe with mufflers by Maxim. Insulation is with flexible blankets. All engines exhaust through the stacks.
