USCG – VDR on Certain Passenger Ships

The US Coast Guard has commenced a study on the feasibility, cost, and benefits of installation of voyage data recorders on certain passenger vessels. The vessels that are the focus of this study are ferries of at least 100 gross tons providing transportation only between places that are not more than 300 miles apart and carrying more than 399 passengers. Comments and information should be submitted by February 6, 2007. Source: HK Law
