Veson Welcomes Li, Elkin, Patel, Venkatesh

Veson Nautical, the US-based developer of software solutions for the commercial maritime community, announced the addition of four professionals to the company’s Boston headquarters office.

Veson Nautical has hired Haorong Li as Director of Professional Services; Mikhail Elkin as Software Engineer; Suchit Patel as QA Engineer; and Brenna Venkatesh as Marketing and Events Associate.

Haorong Li, Veson’s new Director of Professional Services, has more than 10 years of experience implementing enterprise software solutions for operations management, supply chain optimization, planning, scheduling and logistics. His combination of hands-on expertise on a wide range of business application software and extensive experience providing consulting services to global customers will serve Veson Nautical customers well. In his new role with Veson, Haorong will lead the project management and implementation consulting organizations. He will work directly with several of the company’s largest clients to ensure continued satisfaction and will lead members of his team on new major implementations.

Prior to joining Veson, Haorong was Director of Professional Services at ToolsGroup, a leading provider of Demand Driven Inventory Optimization software and solutions. During that time, he worked with major corporate customers to implement integrated solutions and drastically improve their supply chain performance. He developed the company’s consulting organization, professional services methodology and consultative sales approach for the North America region. Haorong also worked for i2 Technologies based in Cambridge, MA as Solution Architect/Project Manager. He holds an M.S. in Manufacturing Engineering and a Ph.D. in Manufacturing Engineering, with a minor in Operations Management, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China.

Mikhail (Mike) Elkin has joined Veson’s development team as a Software Engineer, reporting directly to Development Manager David Kanof. Mike brings more than 10 years of object oriented design experience and is well versed in a variety of windows applications, operating systems and programming languages. Mike most recently served as a Senior Software Engineer at Parametric Technology Corporation where he honed his expertise in C and C++. Mike graduated from Moscow Aviation University, Russia with a Masters of Science in Automated Control Systems.

Suchit (Such) Patel also joined Veson as a QA Engineer, reporting to David Kanof and working closely with Lead QA Engineer, Tom Mutak. Such is responsible for testing existing software, designing and developing automated regression tests, identifying potential system enhancements and assisting in the release and QA process. Such’s previous experience includes serving as Software Quality Engineer for Saba Software Corporation in Lexington, MA; and as Software Engineer for MA-based EMC Corporation and Adax Incorporated, which is located in New Jersey. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Engineering from Boston University.

Brenna Venkatesh comes to Veson Nautical with several years experience in event management, marketing and promotions, learned by running her own retail business.  In her role as Marketing and Events Associate, Brenna is responsible for managing and promoting Veson sponsored events as well as trade shows and exhibitions. She also works closely with Marketing Director Eva Douzinas and Director of Client Services Evan Efstathiou to develop and improve customer communications such as Webinars and Quarterly Newsletters, and assist with public relations efforts. 

Before joining Veson, Brenna was president and owner of French Dressing, Inc., a clothing boutique in Boston, which she operated for five years. Previously, she worked at Metropolitan Life Insurance as a Group Sales Representative; she earned a B.A. in Marketing from Boston College.
