Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

December 5, 2005

VOSTA LMG received a contract for a cutter suction dredge from Arab Potash in Jordan. The cutter suction dredge is of special design, as the dredge will need to excavate hard salt deposits in extremely corrosive and harsh climate conditions. Ambient site temperatures exceeding 40 dgrs Celsius are common. The Arab Potash site is located 110 kilometres South of Amman and 200 kilometres north of Aqaba. The site comprises of an extensive solar evaporation pond system of an area of 131 square kilometres wherein enrichment occurs to produce valuable Potash Salt. The dredge is required to mainly work at a dredging depth of 2-6 meters. Also, she is longer than normal, as an additional lengthening pontoon will be integrated in the design. The dredge will be handed over to Arab Potash towards the end of 2006. VOSTA LMG will not only supply the complete dredge, including floating pipeline, but also take care of the assembly and commissioning on-site in Jordan. On top of that VOSTA LMG will train the crew as well, so the dredge will be operated with the highest efficiency.
