Houston based marine design company Waller Marine has been contracted to design the world's largest single power barge. The 220 MW barge mounted power plant utilizes a combined cycle technology, comprising four LM 6000 aero derivative gas turbines, with chilled air intakes, each coupled to a Once Through Steam Generator (OTSG). The steam generated from heat recovery drives a 55 MW steam turbine generator.
Measuring 348 ft. (106 m) with a 180 ft. (55 m) breadth designed per ABS structural standards, the barge, which will be constructed in Korea will be dry towed to the west coast of India, where it will supply power
to the grid.
