Wynn Installs Wipers for Fireboat

Wednesday, March 12, 2003
Wynn Marine has completed the installation of a window wiping system for a new Los Angeles Fireboat. The high-tech vessel is in production for the Los Angeles Fire Department by Nichols Bros. Boat Builders, based in Washington. The boat has been commissioned to serve the L.A. Port area. The wiper system is based on the Type C Internal motor Straight line wiper from Wynn’s heavy duty Ocean Range. This system offers the most advanced design of linear action window wiping systems available and offers excellent reliability and window coverage. Using the materials such as 316 stainless steel, Wynn wiper systems are designed and built to withstand adverse conditions and provide a clear view at all times. This is particularly important for operation on the LA Fireboat, which can pump as much as 38,000gpm of water into the air, which can seriously affect visibility on bridge windows.
