ZF Marine Prop System to Mastercraft 300

Friday, April 24, 2009

The recently unveiled MasterCraft 300 features some of the most cutting-edge technology available in the day-yacht category.  Supplied by ZF Marine, the ZF 63IV transmissions with electronic shift control, electric troll, and SmartCommand controls from ZF Marine Electronics, make the 30 ft boat comfortable and easy to control. SmartCommand, when paired with the optional new Joystick Maneuvering System (JMS), works in conjunction with the two main engines and bow thruster to offer owners a pod-like joystick control of a traditional shaftline vessel.

When interfaced with the SmartCommand control system in a twin-engine traditional shaftline application, JMS will provide the same ease of control expected from azimuthing pod drive systems.  Maneuvers such as sideways docking and 360-degree spot rotation become easy operations with the JMS system since it also controls engine speed and transmission shifting.
