Impressive keynote speakers, informative customer presentations and exciting new technologies.

AVEVA, an engineering design and information management solutions for the plant, power and marine industries, today announced the successful conclusion of its AVEVA World Summits.  Organised for AVEVA customers and partners, the three regional Summits were held through October and November in Copenhagen, Rio de Janeiro and Singapore.

The theme for the 2011 Summits and other AVEVA World events for the next year is “Joined up thinking”. Delegates from across the globe joined business strategy presentations and participated in a range of social and networking activities over the course of the two day events.  Each Summit combined the plant and marine industries with a variety of AVEVA and customer presentations.

The keynote speakers were Rear Admiral Chris Parry CBE, Amyr Klink and Fredrik Härén who presented on the socioeconomics of our rapidly changing world, artic exploration and creativity in the workplace. Informative customer presentations were given on a wide range of topics from industry leaders including Statoil, Technip, AMEC, Petrobras, Promon, SETAL, Hyundai Heavy Industries and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering. AVEVA executives presented new technologies, roadmaps and updates including the recent acquisition of the LFM laser scanning software.

“As ever, the AVEVA World Summits have proved very popular. A diverse group of delegates came together to share their business challenges and learn from each other’s experience. There is so much common ground across companies and industries, and the level of networking really reflects their interest in exploring creative solutions. I am pleased to see the role that AVEVA is playing in stimulating debate on key industry issues,” said Richard Longdon, CEO at AVEVA.

“Summits were a real success, despite difficult market conditions. The attendance of both delegates and sponsors has been very strong and the quality of the interaction between customers and AVEVA was exceptional. The Summit is designed for mid-level management and key decision makers, complementing our technical User Meetings and the more senior Executive Council events.  This format has been working very well, but we are making one big change to the Summit in 2012.  Based on input from our delegates we will be holding a single global Summit.  We look forward to next year when we will be welcoming our customers from around the world to the AVEVA World Summit in Paris,”  said Steve Tongish, VP of Marketing at AVEVA.
