Deep Blue Marine Requests Recovery Permit

Deep Blue Marine, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: DPBE) announced that the company has requested a recovery permit as specified in its contract with the Government of the Dominican Republic. Working under the supervision of the Marina de Guerra Dominicana and an inspector from the Oficina Nacional de Patrimonio Cultural Subacuático, Deep Blue has signed an agreement to provide services in the area of survey, recovery and restoration of artifacts for an undisclosed permitted area on the north shore. The request was made as a result of major historical finds in the contract area. Deep Blue Marine Purchases Ship

Deep Blue Marine, Inc. announced that the company has purchased a second 88 ton vessel which management plans to relocate to the Caribbean. The ship is the 77-ft sister ship of the Cap'n Tracy. The company will begin retrofit next week to prepare the ship for recovery work. The purchase is made in the effort to keep up with the demands set upon the company as operations expand. www.alldeepblue.com

Lluavi Puts Mexican Shipbuilding on the Map

Strategic Marine Mexico recently launched the second 170.6 ft Crew Boat, the LLuavi, for Arrendadora Ocean Mexicana (Blue Marine). The two 170.6 ft Crew Boats, Aramara and Lluavi, has seen Blue Marine become the only Mexican ship owner to build offshore vessels in Mexico. “Not only is this project a huge achievement for Strategic Marine, but for the Mexican community at large, helping to create over 160 jobs in total. We are confident the Mexican shipping industry will take note, and place a higher priority on in-country investments such as these,” stated Ron F Anderson, Managing Director. Vessels Built in Private Mexican Yard

After more than 20 years without a ship built in private Mexican shipyards, Blue Marine introduced two quick intervention provider ships which have been fully constructed in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, with the latest technology. Blue Marine, with an investment exceeding $160m, became the only Mexican shipping company that builds offshore boats in México. This deep Mexican root is also transmitted in the boats names, Aramara and Lluavi, two Huichol words in Spanish translates as “place of where our ancestors sail” and “blue.” In addition, both ships will have the Mexican flag.

Rawson VP Operations, Deep Blue Marine

Deep Blue Marine Inc. announced that the company has appointed William Rawson formally of Key West Florida as VP of Operations. Rawson has worked for the company since 2006 as the captain of the recovery vessel Cap N Tracy. Rawson has provided the company with a wealth of knowledge in many areas including artifact recovery, seaman ship and business skills. Rawson began his career on the ocean at the age of 15 and has spent his entire life plying the trades of the sea. He spent several years as captain of his own fishing boat in the Florida Keys.  Rawson has worked in the recovery business for a total of eight years both part time and full time. Strategic Locates In North America

The Henderson Australia-based boat builder Strategic Marine has operated a boat building facility in Singapore for a number of years. In May and June they launched a pair of the 131.2-ft crew boats there. In February this year they held the official opened a new yard in Vung Tau City Vietnam. At the same time their new yard, a joint venture with Servicies Industriales Navales, in Mazatlan Mexico has a pair of 170.6 X 32.8-ft crew boats under construction for a 2009/10 delivery.

Blue Giant Named in Ceremony

Blue Giant, a ship with participation of the Mexican shipping company, Blue Marine, is capable of providing different products and services specialized for the offshore industry. Blue Giant has a large free deck area that allows containing repair and maintenance workshops of equipment from oil platforms. Likewise, it counts on surface and saturation diving equipment and a retention area for carrying out maintenance and repair tasks in the atmospheric and submarine area of the platform, as well as for maintenance and repair of submarine pipes. The vessel counts on a folding hatch on the stern and is capable of sinking its deck under the sea level for working as a dock containing up to 130-meter length vessels.

Blue Marine Acquires Tankers for PEMEX Refinación

Blue Marine Shipping, has acquired two new tankers that shall be leased by PEMEX Refinación for the next 10 years. On May 30, Blue Marine awarded two out of the five tender agreements in which PEMEX Refinación invited tenders in order to improve its fleet. The cost of these two new tankers, African Future and Torm Wabash, reached 85.8 million and 98.4 million dollars respectively. The tankers were previously owned by the Torm and Delmod Marine Companies, with which Blue Marine executed a buy-sell agreement.

Strategic Marine to Build Eight Crewboats

Australian shipbuilder Strategic Marine is making the most of the current high demand for offshore vessels in international shipping markets by building eight aluminum crew boats on a speculative basis. In a move which is expected to boost its revenues by over $40m, the company will build six 40m vessels at its shipyard, and two 52m crew boats at its new Mexican yard at . Western Australian marine services company Samson Maritime has already ordered two of the new 40m crew boats after signing a contract worth $9.8m.

Strategic Marine Wins Deal for 3

Netherlands-based maritime services company, SMIT has awarded Australian shipbuilder Strategic Marine the contract to build three aluminum hulled boats for use in its Middle East operations. Strategic Marine chairman, Mark Newbold, said the sale of the 22.1m crew/pilot boats re-enforced Strategic Marine’s reputation as a global shipbuilder. “This is a major strategic step forward and builds on the delivery of three 31 metre wellhead maintenance vessels to European client Svitzer,” said Mr Newbold. “The contract is a positive step forward for the development of Strategic Marine’s brand and reputation in Europe and the Arabian Gulf offshore industry where both the Svitzer’s and SMIT’s vessels will operate”. The crew/pilot boats will carry up to 30 passengers and 38sqm open deck space.

Strategic Marines to open Mexican Yard

Strategic Marine reported that it will open its first shipyard in the Americas in early 2008 following a joint venture bid with Servicios Navales E Industriales S.A. DE C.V. (SENI) to build two 52m aluminum crew boats for Arrendadora Ocean Mexicana S.A. de CV (Blue Marine Offshore) in Mexico. Strategic Marine already operates yards at its Henderson headquarters in Western Australia, Tuas in Singapore and Dong Xuyen Industrial Zone, Ba-Ria Vung Tau in southern Vietnam. The $11.9m contract will see the two vessels operated by Blue Marine Offshore for its Pemex contract in the Gulf of Mexico. Work on the contract is scheduled to commence this year, before which Strategic will work with SENI to upgrade its existing maintenance facility at Mazatlan on the Mexican west coast.
