Drydocks World has recently completed two projects for Bluewater Energy Services B.V. and end client Hurricane Energy plc.The projects included the refurbishment, life extension and upgrade of the FPSO Aoka Mizu vessel, and the construction of a Turret Buoy weighing over 1,000T. Drydocks World Takes on FPSO Aoka Mizu Projects
Drydocks World, a marine, onshore and offshore service provider to the oil, gas and renewable energy sectors, has signed an agreement for two new projects with Bluewater Energy Services B.V. and end client Hurricane Energy plc. Building on Drydocks World’s track record of 32 conversions and six turrets, the yard will now undertake a repair, life extension and upgrade project on Floating Production Storage & Offloading (FPSO) vessel Aoka Mizu, which will be deployed in the Lancaster Field West of the Shetlands after completion.
New Electrical Steam Boiler Module for Aoka Mizu FPSO
Parat Halvorsen AS said it recently secured a contract to design and fabricate a complete, turnkey steam boiler module for the Floating Production & Storage Offshore (FPSO) vessel Aoka Mizu owned by Bluewater Energy Services BV. The FPSO is being decommissioned for the Lancaster project which is owned and operated by Hurricane Energy UK. The module will include 2 x 3200kW electric steam boilers based on the PARAT MEL design and will provide an additional 9,600kg/hr of saturated steam for the FPSO marine and process systems.
Bluewater to Supply Turret Mooring System for Rosebank FPSO
Bluewater Energy Services B.V. informs it was awarded a contract from shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) for the engineering, procurement, construction and integration (EPCI) of a turret and mooring system for a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel to be part of the Chevron-operated Rosebank project on the edge of the U.K. continental shelf. At about 80 meters in height, with a process manifold/turntable of about 34 meter in diameter, the turret and mooring system will be among the largest ever designed and built, Bluewater said.
Golar and Bluewater Partner in Bid for Offshore FSRU Project
Golar LNG announced that it has agreed to partner with Bluewater Energy Services B.V in bidding for an offshore LNG FSRU opportunity with 's national oil company, PetroSA. Golar and Bluewater will be equal partners in a joint venture formed specifically for this opportunity. Additionally, and in conjunction with this bid, Golar and Bluewater have agreed to acquire the 1977 built Moss type 126,000 m3 LNG Carrier, Hoegh Gandria. The vessel is intended to be used as the converted offshore FSRU. The Bluewater group of companies has built a technological lead specializing in lease and operation of tanker-based Production and Storage (FPSO/FSO) systems, and has become a leading provider of advanced Single Point Mooring (SPM) systems.
Bluewater Purchases Vessel from Knutsen
Bluewater Energy Services B.V. announced the purchase by Bluewater of the MT Hanne Knutsen tanker from Knutsen OAS Shipping AS. Delivery to Bluewater is expected to take place on or before June 30. The MT Hanne Knutsen was built in the Spanish shipyard Astilleros de Sestao and was delivered to Knutsen OAS Shipping AS in 2000. The vessel was designed as a typical North Sea shuttle tanker and has since been trading in Baltic ice regions and has also been in service as a shuttle tanker. The Hanne Knutsen has a storage capacity of 860,000 bbls cargo, and is a sister vessel of the Aasgaard C FSO. The hull structure offers considerably higher strength than standard tankers and is rated Ice Class 1A which is ideal for harsh environments.
