Bollinger Delivers 55,000 Barrel OPA'90 Tank Barget

Bollinger Delivers 55,000 Barrel OPA'90 Tank Barget To Bouchard. Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., Amelia, La., a Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. company, has delivered the B. No. 250, a newly designed and constructed 55,000 barrel OPA’90 compliant tank barge to Bouchard Transportation Co., Inc., Melville, NY. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. The announcement was made by Bollinger executive vice president of new construction, Chris Bollinger, “We are very pleased to announce the OPA’90 tank barge, B. No. 250, as another successful delivery to the Bouchard family.

U.S. Barge Delivers Combination Deck/Tank Barge

U.S. Barge LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vigor Industrial LLC, this week will deliver a combination Deck and Tank Barge to NorthStar Gas LLC, an Alaskan Petroleum Distributor. The CAUNEQ was christened on April 15, 2011 and will start making deliveries in May to the Yukon, Kuskokwim and Western Alaska Costal Regions. NorthStar Gas and its operating partner, Delta Western, will use this barge to service customers in Western Alaska, stabilizing the transportation costs of fuel in the region.

Bollinger Delivers ATB to Bouchard

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. of Lockport, Louisiana and Bollinger Gretna L.L.C., Harvey, La., have delivered the articulated tug/barge (ATB) unit, tug Linda Lee Bouchard and barge B. No. 205 to Bouchard Coastwise Management Corp., Melville, N.Y. The double hull, ocean going asphalt, residual fuel oil Barge B. No. 205, built at Bollinger Gretna meets the requirements of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA’90) and is rated for 110,000 BBLs of product in sixteen cargo tanks. B. No. 205 measures 430-ft. long, with a 79-ft. beam and a depth of 34 ft., and is constructed with a flat deck, as are all, of Bouchard double hull vessels. The barge is certified ABS +1 Oil Tank Barge, USCG Manned Ocean Service, US flagged for grade A and lower petroleum products.

Bollinger Inks Two Contracts with Moran Towing

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. of Lockport, La., and Moran Towing Corp., New Canaan, Ct., signed contracts for Bollinger to build one 14,500 short ton bulk barge and one 60,000 barrel Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA’90) double-hull, ocean-going barge. The large bulk barge will be similar to the three bulk barges currently in the Moran fleet, Bridgeport, Somerset and Portsmouth. The barge will be able to carry a wide range of products, including petroleum coke, coal, fertilizers, grains, scrap metal, steel plates, steel coils, sugar, crushed glass and numerous other commodities, as well as finished goods for a variety of long-term and spot customers. The bulk barge will be classed unmanned ocean service with dimensions of 418.5-ft. x 75-ft. x 29-ft.

Bollinger Delivers Double Barge Hull

Bollinger Gretna L.L.C., Harvey, La., has delivered GCS 238, an Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA ’90) double hull, ocean service, oil tank barge to Gellatly & Criscione Services of Point Pleasant, NJ. Bollinger and Gellatly & Criscione Services signed the contract for the new building program in October 2004 and the vessel was delivered at Bollinger’s Gretna facility in July of 2005. Bollinger Marine Fabricators, Amelia, La., fabricated panels for the new 300-ft. by 64-ft. by 21-ft., 35,000 BBL barge and shipped them to Bollinger Gretna, Harvey, La. for installation of piping and other systems and final assembly. “The GCS 238 is the first OPA ’90 new-build in our planned fleet expansion.” said Alexander “Alex” Gellatly, president of Gellatly & Criscione Services.
