Bollinger Delivers Supply Boat to Tidewater

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc., Lockport, La., has delivered the Jonathan Rozier, the third of four 207-ft., 4,750 BHP supply boats to Tidewater, Inc., New Orleans, La. It follows the recent delivery of the Lousteau Tide and Deville Tide, of Bollinger’s new 220 class offshore support vessels (OSV), designed for Tidewater by Bollinger. The fourth vessel, BOURGEOIS TIDE will be delivered in April of 2004. The boats are part of Bollinger’s 220 Class OSVs that are designed to provide greater cargo capacities, more versatility, more options and lower operating costs than larger vessels.

News: Bollinger Delivers Tidewater Supply Boat Jonathan Rozier

Bollinger Shipyards delivered the Jonathan Rozier, the third of four 207-ft. (63 m), 4,750 bhp supply boats to Tidewater, Inc. This vessel follows the Lousteau Tide and Deville Tide, Bollinger's new 220 class offshore support vessels (OSV), designed for Tidewater. The fourth vessel, Bourgeois Tide will be delivered in April of 2004. Jonathan Rozier measures 207 x 53-ft. (63 x 16.2 m), and is 19-ft. (5.8 m) deep. Light draft is 6.5 ft. (1.98 m); loaded draft is 16.2 ft. (4.9 m). It has two Caterpillar 3516B diesel engines developing a total of 4,750 bhp at 1,600 rpm driving two Rolls Royce US 205 Z-Drives. Davis Commemorates Birthday of Ship’s Namesake

From USS Rodney M. USS Rodney M. Davis (FFG 60) held a ceremony April 7 to commemorate the birthday of her namesake, Marine Sgt. Rodney Maxwell Davis. The ship, commissioned in 1987, was named in honor of Davis who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroism during the Vietnam War. The ship's chief petty officers presented Davis' uniform and awards to the command during the ceremony. The memorabilia will be displayed on the mess decks. The chiefs chose Davis’ birthday to honor both his life and his achievements. Chief Cryptologic Technician Technical David Gwinner, Chief Gas Turbine Systems Technician Electrical Kurt Williams, and Chief Sonar Technician Robert Foss presented the display.
