Navico Invests to Boost Manufacturing Capabilities

Navico Group, a division of Brunswick Corporation, announced a multimillion-dollar investment in its Lowell, Mich. facility to create two Centers of Excellence in metal fabrication and electrification. The investment is intended to increase quality, capacity and efficiency, as well as improve product manufacturing capabilities, the company said.“Navico Group is committed to being a leader in metal fabrication and electrification for the industries we serve, and this investment is a testament to that” said Brett Dibkey, Navico Group President.

Mercury Marine Unveils V10 Outboards

Brunswick Corporation announced the formation of Navico Group, which will replace its current Advanced Systems Group (ASG). Navico Group will continue to be led by Brett Dibkey and represents a complete organizational integration between the legacy ASG business with two key acquisitions that were completed in late 2021 – Navico and RELiON Battery LLC.The newly formed Navico Group will be comprised of numerous brands that serve the marine, RV, specialty vehicle, and industrial markets.

Brunswick: Ramping up Quality for the Long Haul

As Brunswick Commercial & Government Products expands its capabilities and product line, the Florida-based boatbuilder is positioned to safely provide increased efficiencies, and an expanded, multi-mission product line. When Brunswick Commercial & Government Products (BCGP) broke ground on a facility expansion at the company’s Florida headquarters in early May, it served notice that this well-known boatbuilder had ramped up both its delivery capabilities, and an expanded array of new hulls. With a new large-boat building that includes added manufacturing space and other facility improvements, the 10,500-square-foot facility increases the company’s manufacturing capacity by 50 percent.

In this role, Bon Fleur will be responsible for day-to-day operations and business activities, reporting to Boston Whaler Group President, Nick Stickler. Prior to joining the BCGP team, Bon Fleur served in various other roles inside BCGP’s parent company, Brunswick Corporation, including continuous improvement manager for Boston Whaler, and most recently director of operations for Thunder Jet, an aluminum boat builder in Washington state.

Brunswick, Mercury Marine to Aid Mercy Ships

When the Africa Mercy, the world’s largest private hospital ship, provides its next field service in Cameroon, Africa, it will do so with a new dive boat and several new Mercury Marine outboard engines for the ship’s dive and rescue operations thanks to a recent donation from Brunswick Corporation and its engine subsidiary, Mercury Marine. Mercy Ships is a global charity that offers free life-changing surgeries, holistic health care and specialized training for local health care professionals in some of the world’s poorest areas.

Brunswick Acquires Lankhorst Taselaar

Brunswick Corporation said it has completed its acquisition of Lankhorst Taselaar, a marine parts and accessories distribution company based in the Netherlands and Germany. Lankhorst Taselaar will be integrated into Mercury Marine to augment the engine maker’s P&A business in Europe. “Lankhorst Taselaar bolsters and solidifies the distribution arm of our marine P&A business in Europe,” said Brunswick Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mark Schwabero. “As we have done in recent years with BLA in Australia and Payne’s Marine in Canada, Lankhorst Taselaar expands our reach and customer responsiveness in the global marine marketplace and offers us a larger footprint upon which to build in Europe.

April 14 marked 10-years without a lost time incident for Brunswick Commercial & Government Products (BCGP). BCGP's employees have worked 1,817,000 hours without a lost time incident and maintained a recordable incident rate of zero in 2016. Boston Whaler Holds Ribbon Cutting Event

In 2014, Boston Whaler broke ground on a new era in its history, introducing its largest model ever with the new 420 Outrage. On Jan. 13, 2015, Whaler celebrated the expansion to its facility that makes production of the 420 Outrage possible: the addition of nearly 60,000 square feet of under-roof manufacturing space. The Mercury Repower Finance program is funded by Medallion Bank, a marine industry leader that specializes in accepting buyers with a wide range of credit histories.
