GTT Wins 2 LNG Tank Design Orders from Hyundai

French multinational naval engineering company Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) has received two orders from the Korean shipyards, one from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI) and the other one from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) for the tank design of two Liquefied Natural Gas Carrier (LNGC).Each vessel will offer a capacity of 174,000 m3. GTT will design the tanks of the vessels, which will be fitted with the Mark III Flex membrane containment system, a technology developed by GTT.The first LNGC will be built in HSHI shipyard on behalf of an Asian ship-owner whose name remains confidential at this stage. The vessel delivery is scheduled for the second quarter of 2022.The second LNGC will be built in HHI shipyard on behalf of the Korean ship-owner SK Shipping Co.

GasLog Adds New LNGC from SHI

Monaco-based shipowner GasLog has taken delivery of the 180,000-m3 GasLog Warsaw liquefied natural gas carrier (LNGC) from South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) on July 31.GasLog Warsaw is the first 180,000 cbm LNG tanker delivered to the company by SHI. The shipbuilder has a further seven units for GasLog on order.GasLog Warsaw is a 180,000 cubic meter (cbm) Mark III Flex Plus carrier with low pressure dual fuel two-stroke (X-DF) propulsion.The vessel was immediately delivered into a new charter with a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cheniere Energy for the period prior to the commencement of her long-term charter with a subsidiary of Endesa in May 2021.On June 25, 2019, GasLog entered into a loan agreement with ABN AMRO BANK N.V.

Johor Port, Petronas LNG Sign Services Pact

Johor Port Berhad has signed an agreement with Petronas LNG Ltd. to provide marine services for vessels that receive gassing up and cooling down (GUCD) services at PLL’s Regasification Terminal Pengerang.According to a press release from integrated multi-purpose port facility located at the southern tip of Peninsular Malaysia, the signing of the Marine Services Agreement by Johor Port Bhd and PPL enables the provisioning of marine services and attractive tariff for vessels that receive Gassing Up and Cooling Down (GUCD) services at PLL’s Regasification Terminal Pengerang (RGTP).The GUCD is a specialised service of bringing the storage tanks on liquefied natural gas carrier (LNG) vessels to a natural environment and cooling it down to cryogenic temperature (minus 160 degrees Celcius).

GTT Receives Tank Design Order from HSHI

GTT has received an order from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI) for the tank design of a Liquefied Natural Gas Carrier (LNGC) on behalf of the Japanese ship-owner Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK).GTT’s Mark III Flex membrane containment system has been selected to equip the LNGC, offering a capacity of 174,000 m3. The vessel’s delivery is scheduled for the end of 2022.

Mitsubishi Shipbuilding held a christening ceremony on February 21 for the next-generation LNG (liquefied natural gas) carrier currently under construction for Mitsui & Co., Ltd.The new ship, named Marvel Crane, is a design that significantly improves both LNG carrying capacity and fuel performance due to the adoption of efficient hull structure and hybrid propulsion system. Completion is scheduled for March 2019, after which the Marvel Crane will be put into service, transporting LNG for the Cameron LNG Project in the U.S., in which Mitsui & Co.

Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. held a christening ceremony for a next-generation LNG (liquefied natural gas) carrier under construction for TRANS PACIFIC SHIPPING 5 LTD., a joint venture of JERA Co., Inc. (JERA) and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL). The new ship, named Nohshu Maru, is the fourth vessel of the latest model "Sayaringo STaGE" type, featuring significant improvements in both LNG carrying capacity and fuel performance due to the adoption of a more efficient hull structure and an innovative hybrid propulsion system.

Höegh LNG's Höegh Esperanza FSRU Arrives at Tianjing, China

Höegh Esperanza, the Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) unit operated by Norway’s Höegh LNG Holdings, has arrived at the Tianjin LNG terminal in China and started commissioning for FSRU operations.Höegh Esperanza is currently serving a three-plus-one year FSRU/liquefied natural gas carrier (LNGC) time charter with CNOOC Gas & Power Trading and Marketing, said a press release from the LNG transportation and services provider.Under the contract, Höegh Esperanza will be utilised in FSRU mode for a minimum period each year, with the balance of the year in LNG carrier mode and/or FSRU mode. DSME, Sovcomflot Delay Delivery of First Arctic LNG carrier

South Korea's Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) and Sovcomflot have agreed to delay a liquefied natural gas carrier being built for the Yamal LNG project in Russia. According DSME statement the vessel, which was originally scheduled for June this year re-set the delivery date, will now be delivered in January 2017. No details have been disclosed on the reasons of the delay. In March 2014, DSME) signed with Russia's largest shipping company Sovcomflot to build 170000CBM level Polar special (ARC7 Ice-class) icebreaking LNG ship. The vessel is a prototype for a series of 16 Arctic LNG carriers, and will be the first to load at the liquefaction and export plant in Port of Sabetta (Ob Bay, Kara Sea), currently under construction.

Dynagas LNG Partners Acquires LNG Carrier

Dynagas LNG Partners LP has entered into an agreement with Dynagas Holding Ltd to purchase 100% of the ownership interests in the entity that owns and operates the Lena River, a 2013 built 155,000 cubic meter ice class liquefied natural gas carrier, and the related time charter contract with Gazprom Global LNG Limited, for an aggregate purchase price of $240.0 million. The closing of the Lena River acquisition is expected to take place on or before December 31, 2015 and is subject to customary closing conditions. The Lena River is currently operating under the Gazprom Charter, which has an initial term of five years and expires in October 2018.

Lines, Ltd. today took part in a naming ceremony for the newbuilding liquefied natural gas carrier LNG JUROJIN, which is co-owned by MOL and Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc. at the Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. Among the many guests on hand were KEPCO President and Director Yagi, who named the new vessel, and his wife, who cut the rope. After delivery, the LNG JUROJIN will serve a broad range of LNG transport projects, including the Ichthys LNG Project. value-added LNG transport services tailored to the needs of customers, including electric power and gas companies in Japan. GTT Receives Order for MOL LNGC

Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT), a designer of membrane containment systems for the maritime transportation and storage of liquefied natural gas (LNG), has received a new order for one Liquefied Natural Gas Carrier (LNGC).   The new ship for Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) will be built by the South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) and is expected to be delivered in 2018.   The ship will be built with the NO96-GW technology which allows an optimized boil-off rate of cargo LNG.

Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT), a designer of membrane containment systems for the maritime transportation and storage of liquefied natural gas (LNG), has received an order for one liquefied natural gas carrier (LNGC).   The ship will be built by the South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) for Teekay.   The LNGC for Teekay is expected to be delivered throughout 2018 and will be built with the innovative NO 96 GW technology, which allows an optimized boil-off rate of cargo LNG.

GasLog Proft Doubles, But Misses Forecast

Monaco-based liquefied natural gas carrier owner GasLog has reported a sharp increase in profits in 1Q15, saying the sector's medium- to long-term outlook remains encouraging. Group net profits jumped to $13.8 million in 1Q15 from $6.4 million in the same period last year, as revenues rose to $97.3 million from $57 million. “Against a back drop of weak overall energy markets, the first quarter of 2015 saw us take delivery of the Methane Becki Anne and the Methane Julia Louise, bringing our consolidated fleet to 27 vessels,” Paul Wogan, Chief Executive Officer of GasLog said. The company reported $0.13 earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter, missing the consensus estimate of $0.14 by $0.01. During the same quarter in the previous year, the company posted $0.13 earnings per share.

GTT Bags Order from Imabari

GTT, a designer of membrane containment systems for the maritime transportation and storage of liquefied natural gas (LNG), announced it has received a new order in June for one liquefied natural gas carrier (LNGC) vessel to be built by the Japanese shipbuilder Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.    The LNGC, for Mitsui & Co., will be built with the Mark III Flex technology and is expected to be delivered in 2020.   Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO, commented, "We are very pleased that Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. has decided to renew its trust in our technologies. This new order also confirms the importance of our innovation policy. Out of 31 orders recorded over the last six months, 30 use technologies which were launched over the last three years".

Carrier for Kansai Electric Power Named LNG FUKUROKUJU

Lines, Ltd. today took part in a naming ceremony for the newbuilding liquefied natural gas carrier LNG FUKUROKUJU, which is co-owned by MOL and Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc. at Sakaide Works of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. Among the many guests on hand were KEPCO President and Director Yagi, who named the new vessel, and his wife, who cut the rope. The LNG FUKUROKUJU will serve a broad range of projects including the Australia/Pacific LNG Project after the delivery. The vessel adopts a new steam turbine engine that reuses steam for heating, which will also reduce fuel consumption, and an advanced heat insulation system that offers the lowest LNG vaporization rate - 0.08% - of any LNG carrier in the world.

Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT), a designer of membrane containment systems for the maritime transportation and storage of liquefied natural gas (LNG), has won an order for one liquefied natural gas carrier (LNGC).   The ship will be built by the Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME).   The LNGC for the Greek shipowner Chandris is expected to be delivered in 2018 and will be built with the NO96-GW technology, which allows an optimized boil-off rate of cargo LNG, GTT said.
