Cargotec Wins 25m in Orders

Monday, September 19, 2011

Cargotec has confirmed new orders worth around EUR 25 million to deliver MacGregor hatch covers, lashing bridges and fixed lashing gear for eleven 8,800 TEU container ships being built by Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering shipyard in South Korea. The MacGregor equipment will be delivered between mid-2012 and the end of 2013. The orders include an option for the delivery of MacGregor solutions for a further ten ships. "Hatch covers and lashing systems are an integral part of a container vessel's cargo-handling ability," says, Tommi Keskilohko, Sales Manager for Container ships. "Cargotec's early involvement in the project enabled it to design the most efficient and safe cargo handling solution possible. Also, as a result of our cargo system design expertise, we can maximise the ship's overall efficiency and profitability."
"Furthermore, Cargotec is the only company who can deliver the whole cargo equipment package. This provides the shipyard with one accountable partner, allowing it to concentrate on its core business," Keskilohko said.
