Svanehøj Unveils High-pressure Marine Pump Unit for LNG Fuel

Denmark-based marine pump specialist Svanehøj said Wednesday it can now offer a high-pressure pump solution for two-stroke engines as demand for LNG-fueled vessels remains high.The company describes its solution as a compact unit with three combined cold ends designed for optimal flow and longer service intervals.High-pressure LNG engines offer lower fuel consumption and significantly reduced methane slips. ROV Dredger Goes to Work in Singapore

Ellicott Dredge Technologies (EDT) announced the successful start up and installation of a state-of-the-art Mud Cat brand remotely operated vehicle (ROV) at the Gardens by the Bay nature park in central Singapore. ML Trading International purchased a Mud Cat Model SRD-6EHV ROV System to fulfill a contract to clean approximately 3,000m3 of sludge in 2km of the Marina Gardens outlet drain tunnel which runs parallel to Marina Gardens Drive, the main access road to Gardens by the Bay.

Lloyd’s Releases Guide for FLNG Facilities

Lloyd’s Register published a rule set to guide the design, construction and operation of floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facilities – the biggest, most complex floating structures ever seen – meaning natural gas will now be safer, cheaper and have a lower environmental footprint, the company said. Launched today, Lloyd’s Register’s Offshore Rules for FLNG vessels and facilities are based on a real-world projects and extensive work with key industry alliances. The Offshore Rules for FLNG reinforce Lloyd’s Register’s position at the forefront of new maritime and energy technology, building upon the work the company has performed with numerous LNG firsts, such as classing the first LNG fuelled tanker, Argonon.

Boksa Marine Design Supports New Workskiff Projects

BMD provide naval architecture services for two commercial vessels. Boksa Marine Design, Inc. (BMD) has provided hull, structural and outfitting design for two recent Workskiff built boats, a 25’ RIB law enforcement boat and a 31’ RIB salvage and towing vessel. “We’ve been fortunate to partner with Workskiff on these two projects as well as many others over the years. Their boats help clients meet the challenges faced on the water and efficiently operate in all weather conditions,” said Nick Boksa, President of Boksa Marine Design. BMD managed the entire design of both vessels.

FLNG Construction – LR Introduce Rules

Demaree Inflatable Boats Inc. (DIB) has delivered two 41-ft. river freighters to Caspian Services, Inc, a company that provides a broad range of services to the oil and gas industries in the . The boats will be used for oil and gas exploration in shallow water areas of the . The river freighter is 41-ft. long and 14-ft. wide, with each pontoon made of highly durable, vulcanized neoprene, with heavy reinforcing strips to help with fendering. The 35.5 ft. long, diamond plate 5086 aluminum deck consists of five sections that bolt together to provide a secure working platform.

Landing Craft for Waterborne Construction

Breezeswept Bay Dock Works recently took delivery of a Packman 23 ft. landing craft designed and built by the William E. Munson Company, Mt. Vernon, Wash. The vessel wil be used for waterborne construction in the Florida Keys. Power is supplied by a single 225 hp Mercury Optimax outboard providing a 50 knot top speed and 30 knot cruise burning less than nine gph. A 2,500 lb. load capacity and 56 in. wide bow door allow for easy transportation of construction equipment to remote building sites. The National Park Service has taken delivery of this Packman 23 ft. high-performance landing craft, designed and built by the William E. Munson Company. Used as a maintenance workboat for the Whiskeytown National Recreation Area in California, the unit has a 2,500 lb. load capacity and standard 52 in. wide bow door allowing for easy transportation of heavy equipment to remote work sites. Additional outfitting includes a console T-top with large aluminum rain roof, upholstered leaning post-seat, forward console storage locker, push knees, beaching wear plate, 75 gallon under deck fuel system and galvanized bunk trailer. Power is supplied by a single 115 hp Honda four-stroke outboard providing a 35 mph top speed and 25 mph cruise burning fewer than eight gph.
