Evac Acquires Cathelco

Evac, the world’s leading provider of integrated waste, wastewater, and water management systems for the marine, offshore, and building industries, is to acquire Cathelco, a leading global manufacturer of equipment for ships and offshore installations.Cathelco customers include Evac’s current marine and offshore customer groups, including ship owners, shipyards, fleet managers, rig owners and operators, oil companies, navies, and designers.The acquisition gives Evac the opportunity to further expand its cleantech solution portfolio to its customers with the addition of new systems, while also opening up new business opportunities in terms of ballast water treatment systems.

HEM takeover Makes Cathelco Water Treatment Leader

Cathelco, the world leading manufacturers of equipment for ships, have acquired Hydro-Electrique Marine (HEM) the French specialists in desalinators and water treatment systems. The acquisition will make Cathelco one of the largest producers of shipboard water treatment systems in Europe and the premier supplier to the superyacht industry. “The new venture will operate under the name of Cathelco HEM emphasising the strength of two well known brand names and creating a stronger presence in the water treatment market”, said Justin Salisbury, managing director of Cathelco Ltd. Cathelco already have experience of the desalinator market having purchased Seafresh Desalinators in 2010, a small company serving the UK market which they transformed into an international exporter of watermakers.

Cathelco’s largest Anode Order, Box Cooler Systems

Cathelco, provider of marine pipework anti-fouling systems, are supplying their largest ever quantity of anodes for a vessel which is being built in Spain. A total of 78 anodes are being supplied for Barreras NB1664, a new type of offshore accommodation ship which is being constructed in Vigo for Edda Accommodation, part of the Ostensjo Group. The purpose built accommodation vessel with an overall length of 426.5 ft and breadth of 88.5 ft is designed to house up to 600 offshore personnel and can be deployed in oil fields anywhere in the world.
