Norway Approves Ammonia Bunkering Terminal

The Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection gave their approval to the construction of the planned ammonia bunkering facility at Fjord Base in Florø, Norway.The planned terminal consists of a floating stationary barge with a capacity of 1,000 cu. m. (650 tons) of ammonia. The permit allows for up to 416 operations annually, many of these expected to be bunkering operations for offshore supply vessels that regularly call at Fjord Base in Florø.The planned terminal is part of Yara Clean Ammonia and Azane’s efforts to make low-emission ammonia a common fuel for shipping.

Partners Collaborate on Ammonia Bunker Vessel Technology

Azane Fuel Solutions and ammonia-to-power provider Amogy have signed an MoU to explore the feasibility of using Amogy’s technology on board an Azane bunker vessel concept.The collaboration will explore the technical and commercial feasibility of the bunker vessel and also of an Azane ammonia fuel feeder solution integrated into the Amogy power system.Azane is a Norway based company developing the world’s first ammonia bunkering terminal. The company has also developed an ammonia fuel bunker vessel concept with a complete ammonia cargo handling system.

'Carbon Free' Platfom Supply Vessel Firm Launched in Norway

Norway-based company Amon Maritime has launched Amon Offshore - a new company focused on the offshore oil and gas market – with plans to operate carbon-free platform supply vessels. The ship has already received approval in principle from DNV and preliminary flag approval from the Norwegian Maritime Authority, Amon Maritime said. Amon Offshore has been created to build, own and operate a fleet of ammonia-powered supply ships for the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Azane Ammonia Bunkering Station Gets AIP from DNV

Azane Fuel Solutions said its ammonia ship bunkering and loading station has earned approval in principle from classification society DNV.The AIP marks a step in further verifying readiness for the commercialization of Azane’s proprietary ammonia bunkering terminals prior to commencing construction. Jurong Port, MHI and JERA Explore Plan to Build Ammonia Power Plant in Singapore

Yara to Set Up Scandinavian Green Ammonia Bunkering Network

Ammonia Bunkering Terminal Project Gets Large Governmental Grant

Azane Fuel Solutions’ first project “Ammonia Fuel Bunkering Network”, which will build a green ammonia bunkering terminal has received confirmation that it will be granted NOK 89 million (EUR 8,600,000) through the Norwegian Green Platform Initiative. Damen Delivering Tug to Cititug in Ecuador

Damen Shipyards Group is delivering an ASD Tug 2813 to Cititug in Ecuador. The vessel, to be named ASD Mater, in honour of the Virgin Mary, will operate in the bunkering terminal of the Port of Esmeraldas.The contract for the ASD Tug 2813 was signed in February this year between Xavier Game, owner of Cititug and Marnix Brouwer on behalf of Damen. Port of Duqm, Shell Oman to Develop Fuel Bunkering Facilities

Shell Oman Marketing Company SAOG signed an agreement with Port of Duqm Company SAOC (PDC) to develop fuel bunkering facilities and services.The downstream oil marketing company in the Sultanate said in a press release that agreement was signed by Dr. Mohammed Mahmood Al Balushi, Chief Executive Officer of SOM, and Reggy Vermeulen, CEO of PDC.The agreement establishes bunkering terminal to provide different grades of quality fuels and lubricants as well as other ancillary facilities to marine liners calling at Port of Duqm, a 50:50 joint venture between the Oman Government and Port of Antwerp Consortium.Dr. Mohammed Mahmood Al Balushi

Saras Invests in New Bunkering Terminal

The advent of industry wide tightening of allowable sulfur emissions is getting nearer. Suddenly, with the deadline now little more than one year away, the countdown clock will very soon be ticking much louder. Simply stated, the cap on allowable sulfur content in marine fuels, presently at 3.5 percent in many geographical regions, will be reduced to 0.5 percent in January 2020. Stena Oil Rolls Out Scandinavia's Largest Bunkering Terminal at Frederikshavn

Stena Oil has signed an agreement to create a new marine fuel terminal in the Port of Frederikshavn. The facility will be fully adapted for the new Sulphur Directive 2020 and its location will reduce the distances travelled by bunkering vessels. The oil terminal will be the largest of its kind in Scandinavia, with a capacity of 75 000 cubic metres. "We are delighted to be developing our business in Frederikshavn. We will create a state-of-the-art terminal that can handle all fuel types that meet the IMO’s global sulphur directive, which comes into effect in 2020. In combination with our Gothenburg terminal, we will have the capability to serve our customers even better. We are also investing in a new bunkering vessel.

Crowley Maritime Corp. and Eagle LNG Partners have started to build a new shore-side liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility on Crowley-leased property at JAXPORT’s Talleyrand Marine Terminal in Jacksonville, Fla. ABS Reflects on Strong 2015 Performance

ABS held its Annual Meeting on April 26, 2016 in New York, where Chairman, President & CEO Christopher J. In 2015, the ABS-classed fleet surpassed 230 million gross tons (mgt), a nearly five percent growth from the previous year. The largest areas of expansion for the class society came from the tanker, gas carrier, containership, bulk carrier, offshore support vessel and offshore production unit sectors. In total, more than 841 new assets entered the ABS-classed fleet, bringing its total to 12,614 assets.

Busan LNG Bunkering Terminal by 2020

A new liquefied natural gas (LNG)-bunkering terminal may become operational at South Korea's Busan New Port by 2020. South Korean shipping company Polaris Shipping will reportedly invest $500 million (KRW 600 billion) to construct the facility. According to IHS, the terminal will occupy a 185,700 m² site in Busan New Port and is to have four berths and two LNG tanks. Busan Port Authority and Busan Regional Oceans & Fisheries Administration had received a business proposal from Polaris Shipping and sought approval from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. According to Busan New Container Terminal Co., Ltd. (BNCT), the newest container terminal in Busan, continues to grow rapidly welcoming 7 new large services in the last 6 months.

Liquiline to Construct Denmark's First LNG Bunker Terminal

Liquiline says it has entered into a contract with Fjord Line to design, construct and commission an LNG ship bunkering terminal for Fjord Line AS at the Port of Hirtshals, Denmark. The terminal will be constructed at the Port of Hirtshals, where Fjord Line operates a daily service with one of its two LNG-fuelled cruise ferries MS Stavangerfjord and MS Bergensfjord. This will be the first LNG ship bunkering terminal in Denmark. The ship bunkering terminal will be of Liquiline-design, a LiquiStation® Bulk ST2FF type. The terminal will have an on-site storage tank with a gross volume of 500m3 and a bunkering solution having a bunkering capacity of upto 400m3 of LNG per hour.

Bunkering To Commence At Magampura Mahinda Rajapaksa Port

Fuel bunkering under the Magampura Mahinda Rajapaksa Port will commence operations by June 15, Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) Chairman Priyath Bandu Wickrama said. "Bunkering operations will start by June 15 at the newly built fuel bunkering terminal at Magampura Mahinda Rajapaksa Port," Wickrama said. "The terminal, which will provide fuel for ships, has been constructed at a cost of US $95 million in line with the Magampura Port development project. According to the chairman, all facilities have been tested for fuel bunkering and the first shipment of fuel for bunkering will be received in the first week of June. An oil tank farm with 14 tanks with an investment of US $ 76 is also constructed at the Hambantota Port.

A partnership including Calgary-based Ferus Natural Gas Fuels has unveilled plans to build in Florida the first U.S. terminal to supply liquefied natural gas as fuel for cargo ships, reports 'The Calgary Herald'. The Eagle LNG partnership was announced in September 2013, and includes Ferus, General Electric Co. and Clean Energy Fuels Corp., the transportation-fuel company co-founded by billionare investor T. Effective October 15, three partners and three associates are joining AKD from the Rotterdam office of law firm NautaDutilh. Frans de Vries Lentsch. Chemoil Pays $55m for Bunkering Terminal, Tankers

Chemoil Energy Ltd. said it plans to buy a bunkering terminal and three oil tankers for a total of $55.14m. The San Francisco-based firm said in a statement it agreed, subject to shareholder approval, to buy the assets from Andorra Services Ltd., a company owned by Chief Executive Robert Viswanathan Chandran.
