Fortescue Conducts World's First Ammonia Bunker Trial in Singapore

Fortescue has conducted the world's first ammonia marine bunker operation in the port of Singapore, the city-state's Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) and the Australian mining company said on Friday.The Singapore-flagged Fortescue Green Pioneer was loaded with liquid ammonia from an existing facility at Jurong Island's Vopak Banyan Terminal for the trial, Fortescue and MPA said in a joint statement.The vessel is dual-fuelled and can adopt ammonia for bunkering in combination with diesel.

Jurong Port, MHI and JERA Explore Plan to Build Ammonia Power Plant in Singapore

China's INE Considers Singapore for Marine Fuel Futures Delivery

The Shanghai International Energy Exchange (INE) is considering using oil storage sites in Singapore owned by PetroChina Co as a delivery point for its low-sulphur fuel oil futures contract, according to two sources with direct knowledge of the matter.The INE’s move would be the first time a Chinese futures contract would be deliverable outside of China and could boost liquidity for the contract, as well as help to influence pricing for shipping fuel.Low-sulphur fuel oil (LSFO) is required as ship fuel to meet new maritime emissions regulations that went into effect this year.

COSCO VLCC Discharges at Exxon's Singapore Facility

IMO2020: Asian Hydrogen Demand to Rise

"There are going to be some projects, many of which in southeast Asia, whereby refiners will be looking to take bottom of the barrel, residue products, and put them through a gasification process to produce hydrogen which can then be used to desulfurize the sulfur particulates. PSA Marine to Provide LNG FSRU Services in Bangladesh

Summit Power International (SPI), Singapore, announced that its subsidiary, Summit LNG Terminal has awarded a 15-year contract to PSA Marine Bangladesh, a subsidiary of PSA Marine. Under the contract, PSA Marine Bangladesh will provide berthing, mooring, pilot and personnel transfer services to LNG ships calling at Summit LNG FSRU terminal, with its three escort tugboats, one fast crew boat and one offshore supply vessel. The award of this contract marks a significant milestone for PSA Marine and commencement of a long-term partnership with SPI. SLNG Terminal Performs Small Scale LNG Reload First Time

Singapore LNG Corporation Pte Ltd (SLNG) has successfully performed its first small scale Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Gas-Up/Cool-Down and Reload at its Terminal on Jurong Island. The operation was carried out from 18-20 June 2017 for the newly built, 6,500m3, Cardissa, an LNG bunker vessel owned by Shell and co-financed by the European Union’s Connecting Europe Facility that will serve customers in Northwest Europe. The operation was conducted at the SLNG Terminal’s Secondary Jetty, which is originally designed to accommodate LNG vessels from 60,000m3 to 265,000m3 in size. Detailed compatibility studies were carried out in advance to ensure that the vessel could safely call at the jetty.

Singapore Launches First LNG Truck Loading Facility

Keppel, BG Group JV to supply LNG Bunkers in Singapore

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), through its wholly-owned subsidiary KS Investments Pte Ltd (KSI), and BG Group plc (BG Group) have been selected to supply Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) bunker to vessels in the Port of Singapore. The joint bid submitted by Keppel O&M and BG Group for the LNG bunker supplier licence is one of the two top bids selected by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA). The awarding of the licence is in line with the Port of Singapore's plans to launch the LNG Bunkering Pilot Programme in 2017. Keppel O&M and BG Group will work on forming a 50/50 joint venture to deliver an end-to-end bunkering solution using LNG sourced from BG Group's diversified LNG portfolio and leveraging Keppel O&M's expertise in LNG vessel servicing.

Trafigura, Singapore LNG Sign Storage Agreement

The Singapore SLNG Corporation and Commodities trading firm Trafigura have signed a storage agreement for the excess capacity within the Singapore LNG terminal on Jurong Island. John Ng, CEO at SLNG, operator of the country's first LNG terminal, says: "SLNG is very pleased to off our storage and reload services to multinational commodity trading house, Trafigura. The company said earlier in the year that it had more than 180,000 m3 of storage available until the end of the year. The amount of capacity leased was not revealed. Singapore has invested millions of dollars in SLNG as it wants to be the LNG trading hub for Asia.

51% Stakes of Keppel Merlimau Cogen Sold for $510 mi

Keppel Infrastructure Holdings Pte Ltd (KI), through its wholly-owned subsidiary, has agreed to sell 51% stake of Keppel Merlimau Cogen Pte Ltd (KMC), which owns Keppel Merlimau Cogen Plant to Keppel Infrastructure Trust (KIT or the Trust) for a cash consideration of $510 million (KMC Transaction). The agreement was signed with Keppel  Infrastructure Fund Management Pte Ltd (KIFM), in its capacity as trustee-manager of KIT. Located on Jurong Island, Singapore, Keppel Merlimau Cogen Plant is a 1,300 MW combined cycle gas turbine power generation facility and is the first asset proposed to be injected into the Trust under the expanded "Right-of-First-Refusal" (ROFR) deed between KI and KIFM.

Reclamation Of Ayer Chawan Basin, Jurong Port

During the period of reclamation of Ayer Chawan Basin, Jurong Island, Singapore –which has now been extended and will be conducted from 15 June to 14 December –bulk carriers, self-propelled barges and pusher tugs with barges in composite unit carrying bulk sand will transit the Banyan Basin, Sinki Fairway, Temasek Fairway and West Jurong Channel to Ayer Chawan Basin reclamation project area. Masters of vessels and harbour craft shall keep a proper lookout for these vessels, proceed at a safe speed and navigate with  extra caution when in the vicinity of the mooring buoys off Bayan Basin, Jurong Island. There are a total of three mooring slots. The mooring and unmooring of vessels will be carried out one at a time during daylight hours between 0630 to 1800hours.

During reclamation work off Temasek Fairway, West of Jurong Island, from 2 June to 1 December, bulk carriers, self-propelled barges and pusher tugs with barges in composite unit carrying bulk sand will be transiting the Temasek Fairway to West Jurong reclamation project area. Masters of vessels and harbour craft shall keep a proper lookout for these vessels, proceed at a safe speed and navigate with extra caution when in the vicinity of the mooring buoys off Temasek Fairway, Jurong Island. Mooring and unmooring of vessels will be carried out in the daylight hours (0630 to 1830hours) during reclamation work period. The following Mooring Buoys APJI2-3, APJI2-4, APJI3-5, APJI3-6 off Temasek Fairway will be deployed for mooring and unmooring of the bulk carriers.

During reclamation work in Singapore off Temasek Fairway, West of Jurong Island, from June 2 to December 1, bulk carriers, self-propelled barges and pusher tugs with barges in composite unit carrying bulk sand will be transiting the Temasek Fairway to West Jurong reclamation project area, GAC said in its daily Hot Port News report. Masters of vessels and harbor craft were advised to keep a lookout for these vessels, proceed at a safe speed and navigate with extra caution when in the vicinity of the mooring buoys off Temasek Fairway, Jurong Island. Mooring and unmooring of vessels will be carried out in the daylight hours (6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.) during reclamation work period.

Proposed upgrading of berthing facilities at Jurong Port

Jurong Port will carry out construction work from 15 May to 15 October at Chevron Oronite Jetty Osak 4, Jurong Island. The construction activities consist of crane barge lifting, installation and tightening of the fenders. All the machinery and equipment will be demobilized after all construction work is completed. Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals. required.

Jurong Port - Jetty construction off Stolthaven Terminal

The working period for jetty construction work at Jurong Island, off Stolthaven Terminal, has been extended. The work is now continuing until 30 September 2014. According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No. A) 1 deg. 16.518'N / 103 deg. B) 1 deg. 16.413'N / 103 deg. C) 1 deg. 16.495'N / 103 deg. D) 1 deg. 16.578'N / 103 deg. Construction of the proposed Jetty 2 will be carried out by piling barges,crane barges and working barges with the support of tug boats. The tug boats will also serve as safety boats.Piling barges and crane barges will be held in position by four anchors. Piling work will be carried out using piling barge. This is followed by steel and concrete work. The last sequence will be the installation of fendering and mooring facilities.

Singapore Reclamation Work Off Temasek Fairway Revised

The working period and details of reclamation off Temasek Fairway, west of Jurong Island, have been revised. The work will now be conducted from 2 June to 1 December. Work will include reclamation, soil investigation & dredging. Dredging work will be carried out by grab dredgers. Each grab dredger will be held by 3 spuds as anchors. The dredgers, with hopper barges in attendance, will have a circular safety working zone of 50-metre radius centred at the dredgers. Dredged materials will be transported to the designated dumping ground by hopper barges. During operation, the dredgers will be attended by tug boats which will be used to shift the dredger. Soil investigation work will be carried out by means of borehole drilling using jack-up barges.
