Eni Extends Algeria Gas Contract

Italian multinational oil and gas company Eni announced that it had signed agreements with Algerian state-owned Sonatrach to extend its gas supply pact.The agreement covers almost 15% of the gas imported into Italy. The agreement extends the 40-year partnership until 2027, with the option of extending an additional two years to 2029.These agreements follow in the steps of a partnership on gas supply and transportation that was established more than 40 years ago, encompassing major pipeline projects and many decades of successful supply to Italy.Eni's Ceo, Claudio Descalzi, commented: "I am particularly pleased with the renewal of the gas supply contract and the level of the strategic partnership with Sonatrach which spans from the exploration and production sector…

ADNOC LNG Wins Extension of Gas Supply Contract to 2040

The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), has agreed, in principle, to extend to 2040 its gas supply agreement with ADNOC LNG, in coordination with ADNOC LNG’s joint venture partners, Mitsui, BP and Total.The the state-owned oil company of the United Arab Emirates said that the new gas supply agreement is scheduled to take effect from April 1, 2019, replacing an existing agreement, due to expire on March 31, 2019.The extension announcement follows the Abu Dhabi’s Supreme Petroleum Council (SPC) approval of ADNOC’s new integrated gas strategy that will sustain LNG production to 2040 and allow ADNOC to seize incremental LNG and gas-to-chemicals growth opportunities where they arise from the UAE’s dynamic demand/supply position and evolving energy mix.Abdulaziz Alhajri…

Gazprom Extends Gas Contract with Austria’s OMV

Russian gas firm Gazprom has signed a new deal to extend the existing gas supply contract with Austria’s OMV until 2040. Under the existing contract between Gazprom Export and OMV Gas Marketing & Trading, Gazprom agreed to supply gas to OMV until 2028. The document was signed in the presence of Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, and Sebastian Kurz, Federal Chancellor of Austria, as part of the celebrations marking 50 years of supplies of Russian gas to Austria. “The Agreement signed today is yet another testament to the growing need for gas imports both in Austria and Europe in general – the need that Gazprom is ready to satisfy.

Chinese LNG Project Progressing

A Chinese consortium led by China Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) and oil major BP aim to complete a feasibility study for China's first liquefied natural gas (LNG) project by next June. An agreement for the supply of gas is also expected to be sealed in a similar timeframe, the official said. The Chinese consortium and BP plan to build a three million ton per year (tpy) LNG import terminal in southern Chinese province of Guangdong by the end of 2005. "We aim to finish the study around May or June next year. It is hoped that the gas supply contract will also fall into place around the same schedule," he said. The Guangdong LNG Joint Executive Office, a joint management team based in the city of Shekou, is preparing bidding documents for potential gas suppliers, the Shekou-based official said.
